Terms of Service
Effective date: 26 September 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Repetio, including the website at repetio.ai, the Repetio mobile apps, and every related service we provide (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Hearttec Software AS, a company registered in Norway ("Hearttec", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these Terms.
1. Who can use Repetio
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Service.
- If you use the Service on behalf of a school, university or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
- You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned from it, or if the law that applies to you prohibits it.
2. Your account
- You must give us accurate information when you sign up and keep your email address up to date, because we use it for sign-in, security notices and billing.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secret and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at once at info@repetio.ai if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account is for one person. You may not share, sell or transfer your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is described in section 11.
3. The Service
Repetio is a study tool. It lets you create flashcards and notes, generate flashcards with artificial intelligence ("AI") from material you provide, study cards with a spaced-repetition scheduler, ask an AI study assistant questions, receive study reminders by email or push notification, and browse, share and import public decks on the Explore page.
We continually improve the Service, and features may be added, changed or removed over time. If we remove a feature that is a material part of a paid plan you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible.
4. Free and Pro plans
Free plan. The Free plan costs nothing. It includes manual card creation, studying and importing, plus a limited monthly allowance of AI features (currently 3 AI deck generations and 20 AI study-assistant questions per calendar month, reset on the 1st of each month in UTC). We may change the Free allowance at any time.
Pro plan. Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks AI card generation, file uploads, the AI study assistant and other features without the Free plan limits, subject to fair-use limits that protect the Service from abuse. The price, billing interval and currency are shown to you before you pay, and that is the price that applies to you. Prices include VAT or other taxes where required.
Free trial. We may offer new subscribers a free trial (currently 14 days). You must provide a payment method to start a trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and you are charged the price shown at sign-up. If no valid payment method is on file when the trial ends, the subscription ends and your account returns to the Free plan.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and the payment method on file is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. We will tell you in advance, by email or in the app, before a price increase takes effect for you, and you can cancel before it applies.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time: on the web through the billing page in your account, or, for purchases made in a mobile app, through the Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period and then does not renew. Deleting your account also cancels a subscription bought on the web; subscriptions bought through an app store must be cancelled in that store.
No refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we do not give refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time or unused features, except where the law requires it or we decide otherwise at our discretion.
Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers). If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. Because the Service is digital content and a digital service delivered immediately, you expressly request that we start providing Pro at once when you subscribe, and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided or, for digital content, once delivery has begun. Where a free trial applies, you can always cancel during the trial without being charged.
Payment processors and app stores. Web payments are processed by Stripe. Purchases in the iOS or Android apps are processed by Apple or Google, whose own terms and refund policies apply to those purchases. We never see or store your full card number.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry it and notify you. If payment cannot be collected, your account returns to the Free plan. Your decks and cards are kept.
5. Your content
"Your Content" means anything you put into the Service: notes, decks, cards, uploaded files (such as PDFs and slides), images, comments, feedback and questions you ask the AI.
- You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.
- Licence to us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, adapt and display Your Content, but only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service for you. This includes sending relevant parts of it to our AI providers so they can generate cards or answer your questions, as described in the Privacy Policy. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies other users have already imported from public decks and copies we must keep for legal reasons.
- Your responsibility. You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content and to let us process it, and that doing so does not infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights. Only upload course material, textbooks or slides that you are allowed to use in this way.
- Backups. We take care to protect Your Content, but you should keep your own copies of anything important. You can export decks from the Service.
6. Public decks, Explore and community features
- If you publish a deck to Explore, anyone, including people without an account, can view it, and signed-in users can like, comment on, report and import a copy of it. Your display name, username and profile picture are shown alongside the deck and any comments you post.
- By publishing a deck, you give every Repetio user a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to view it, import a copy into their own account, study it and adapt that copy for their personal, non-commercial study. Copies already imported stay with the users who imported them, even if you later unpublish or delete your deck.
- Imported decks are the importing user's responsibility. Imported copies can receive updates from the source deck when the importer chooses to sync.
- Be respectful in comments. We may remove comments or decks that break these Terms.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload or share content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property, is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise objectionable, or that contains other people's personal data without a lawful basis;
- use the Service to cheat in exams or otherwise breach the academic-integrity rules that apply to you;
- publish copyrighted material, such as textbook pages or paid question banks, as public decks without the right-holder's permission;
- spam, advertise or mislead other users;
- probe, scan, overload or disrupt the Service, get around usage limits, access it by automated means other than through our published interfaces, or scrape other users' content;
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly allows it;
- use the AI features to generate harmful content, or try to make them reveal their instructions or bypass their safeguards;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
8. Moderation and reporting
Any signed-in user can report a public deck or comment. A public deck that receives several reports may be hidden from Explore automatically while we review it. We may review, hide, remove or restore content, and suspend or close accounts, if we reasonably believe the content or behaviour breaks these Terms or the law. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you what we did and why, and you can contact us at info@repetio.ai to ask us to reconsider.
Copyright complaints. If you believe content on Repetio infringes your copyright, email info@repetio.ai with: your contact details, identification of the work, the location of the infringing content (for example its URL), a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the right-holder or authorised to act for them. We will act promptly on valid notices, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. AI features
- AI-generated flashcards, explanations and answers are produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Always check important information against your course material and reliable sources.
- Repetio is a study aid, not professional advice. Nothing produced by the Service is medical, nursing, clinical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and it must not be used to make decisions about patients, clients or legal matters.
- AI output is generated from what you provide. As between you and us, you may use the output you generate for your own studies, subject to these Terms and the rights of anyone whose material you uploaded. Similar output may be generated for other users.
- We use third-party AI providers, currently OpenAI, to power these features. Your inputs are sent to them only to provide the feature you requested, under agreements that do not allow them to use the data to train their models.
- Free plan allowances and Pro fair-use limits apply to AI features.
10. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, logos, the Repetio name and our own content, belongs to Hearttec Software AS or its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in line with these Terms. You may not use our trademarks without our written permission. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.
11. Suspension, termination and account deletion
- You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, we cancel any web subscription, delete your profile, decks, cards, notes, study history and uploaded files, and remove you from our mailing lists. Some records are kept as explained in the Privacy Policy, for example invoices we must keep under bookkeeping law.
- We may suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates risk or harm for us or other users. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your decks. If we close your account for reasons other than your breach, we will refund any prepaid, unused subscription fees on a pro-rata basis.
- We may discontinue the Service entirely. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can export your content, and refund any prepaid, unused subscription fees on a pro-rata basis.
- Sections 5 (licences already granted to other users), 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15 survive termination.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that study reminders will always arrive, or that using it will lead to any particular exam result.
13. Limitation of liability
- To the fullest extent the law allows, Hearttec Software AS is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or academic results, arising out of or in connection with the Service.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) 500 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or needed urgently for security. The effective date at the top shows when the Terms were last changed. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before the change applies.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes will be heard by the Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed venue, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim in another venue.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law in the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Consumers in Norway may also contact the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet), and consumers in the EU can find information about alternative dispute resolution on the European Commission's consumer pages. We will first try to resolve any complaint informally, so please contact us first.
16. General
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If a court finds any provision invalid, the rest remains in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not waived it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, and we will tell you if that happens.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
